DESCRIPTION

1973 Vauxhall VX4/90 FE Saloon. Blue Bird paintwork with black upholstery. The VX four-ninety was announced as a performance oriented version of the FB Victor in October 1961. During the FB series, the name changed slightly to VX 4/90 which continued to be used until the end of the FE range although the final VX 1978 incarnation carried badges which read VX490. The VX Four Ninety designation originally came from its engineering designation - Vauxhall eXperimental four-cylinder engine of 90 in³ capacity. As well as performance increasing modifications, VX 4/90s also had a number of exterior and interior modifications to distinguish them from Victors. This VX has had just 3 previous owners from new. The last owner had this vehicle for 15 years. 12 of which were spent on a total complete bare shell restoration. This included new panels where required and a professional respray including the underside of the vehicle. the engine bay and boot. He then set about the rebuild. stripping all major components including but not limited to. steering. brakes. suspension. engine. gearbox. overdrive and rear axle. This were all cleaned. painted and rebuilt with any new parts that were required before being fitted back on the car. As a result the car drives perfectly.
The excellent interior was fully removed. cleaned and refitted with meticulous attention to detail. Upon completion. this totally restored vehicle won "Best Car of the Show" at the prestigious Tatton Park Classic Car Show in Cheshire. The History file is one of the best we have seen with two large photograph albums full of pictures detailing every stage of the restoration. The car comes with 19 old MOT certificates, brochures and a quantity of spares. It is very unlikely you will find a better VX490 than this. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit cards accepted. Free delivery within the U.K mainland.
