DESCRIPTION

1969 Triumph TR6 150 BHP PI. Jasmine Yellow with Black Ambla upholstery. This TR is the more desirable 150 BHP model, in fact being the 195th right hand drive PI model produced it makes this car one of the oldest TR6 PI survivors. Having just received a full restoration this early car has all of the correct features that were only fitted during the first year of production. The TR has been subject to a glass out bare metal repaint, it has been fitted with a brand new set of old stock original Rostyle wheel trims fitted to the correct steel wheels. It retains its original seats and steering wheel. The seats and carpets are in fantastic order and the chrome work is exceptionally good. The door shuts and panel gaps are all correct. The chassis is very solid and requiring no work whatsoever. When this car was restored no expense was spared and the car presents fantastically well today. In terms of aesthetics, when first produced some styling details were carried over from earlier Triumph TR models but soon dropped, such as short fender beads on part of the rear wings on the 1968-built and possibly very early 1969-built models. The wheel rims changed slightly starting with the 1970 model year, increasing their width from 5" to 5.5", at which time the Rostyle wheel covers that were standard on the TR5, TR250, and 1969 TR6s were discontinued and centre caps were used. The 1969 models also sported a unique steering wheel and a magnetic petrol filler cap. Different exterior and interior colours were offered in different years and therefore the original colour of a TR6 also indicated in which years it was likely manufactured. For example, TR6s originally painted Royal Blue were only offered up until 1971, whereas Inca yellow was a colour only available on 1976 TR6s. Carpets on earlier cars were made of Wilton wool versus later cars had tufted nylon carpets. The history portfolio of this Triumph is huge with bills, invoices and maintenance details dating back many years with lots of old mots also present. The British Motor Museum Heritage Certificate shows that the car is matching numbers and as it left the factory. Cars this original rarely become available and this is a great opportunity to acquire a special car. The car drives fantastically well and just as you would expect with a very strong engine with excellent oil pressure and a smooth gearbox with working overdrive. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Finance arranged. Free U.K mainland delivery. Please contact us for any further information. Lots more pictures and a video on our website and Facebook page.
