DESCRIPTION

1971 Triumph Stag 3.0 V8 MK I Manual/Overdrive. Sienna with tan upholstery, correct MK I hood and body coloured hard top. This very early Stag is a 1971 build and just car number 868 to leave the production line. It is very rare to find a MK I still with all of its original early features. It has the correct Rostyle wheel trims, low back seats, original dashboard and soft top with side windows. Only 3 owners from new and the last two for 41 years, a motor engineer owning the car from 1980 to 2009, some 29 years. It has just had a body restoration and a complete professional body shop repaint in its correct factory colour. The car comes complete with a large history folder containing bills, invoices and old mot’s dating back many years and the mileage is confirmed at just 92,000. Over £3000 was spent in 2019 keeping the car in lovely order. It may sound a cliche but this is one of the best Stags we have driven, the engine starts on the button and runs tremendously smooth and quietly. Mated to the more desirable manual gearbox the car is a joy to drive with the fantastic V8 burble and overdrive in third and fourth gears. The car does benefit from some subtle upgrades which improve the car such as an fully poly bushed suspension, oversized radiator, kenlowe electric fan and an modern alternator conversion. The factory hardtop is still with the car which really completes the package. An original owners handbook is also in the history file.
