1967 Triumph Spitfire Four MK II. Signal red with black upholstery and white piping. Black soft top and steel factory hard top. Supplied new in January 1967 by Loxhams Garages Ltd of St Annes On Sea to Mrs Collingham. Looking through all of the paperwork in the history file Mrs Collingham kept the car for 22 years up to 1989 when the Spitfire had covered just 34,602 miles, this is recorded on a Triumph Sports Six Club Valuation Certificate. We believe the car was sold around this time to Mr Roberts. Mr Roberts sadly passed away in 1993 and the car was completely waxoyled and laid up in storage until 2007. Mr Roberts’ son then decided that it was time that the Spitfire was recommissioned, this included the whole braking system overhauled with new shoes and cylinders on the rear and new pads, callipers and flexi hoses on the front. A new fuel pump was fitted, new fuel filter and a reconditioned fuel tank. The car was fully serviced and fitted with a new battery and then passed an mot with no advisories. Over the next two years the car was kept running but due to lack of use was sorned. The car was then taken for another mot and passed needing only a silencer replacing, a complete new old stock system was fitted. The car was then sold in December 2009 to Mr Davies of Rhyl with just 35,000 miles. Mr Davies used the car very little during his ownership and it was sold to its fourth and last owner Mr Satchwell in August 2012 at just 36,000 miles. During his ownership Mr Satchwell cared for the car keeping it in original condition and works as required with invoices on file. The car today has covered just 38,000 miles from new and must be one of the lowest mileage MK II Spitfires available today. The chassis and body are in original condition with no rust or rot and a very solid chassis that has never been welded. The interior is in excellent condition apart from the footwell carpets which are faded but a brand new set are supplied with the car if you wish to change them, although you may wish to leave it original. The original jack and tools are with the car and its knock on hammer for the wire wheels. The car has had some paintwork in the past but still presents very well. The original hood frame is present with a new black hood and an original steel hard top is with the car but this will need painting. Lots of old mot’s are in the history file and with various letters and documents confirm the very low mileage.
