1970 Triumph Herald 13/60 Convertible. Signal Red with a black hood and black upholstery. This Herald was purchased new in August 1970 by William Davies of London who owned the car for 7 years before passing it to his son John Davies in June 1977 who has owned it ever since, making it 1 family owned for 51 years. The Triumph was loved and cherished throughout its life before handed to Timeless Classics of Maidstone in 2000 who carried out a complete body off restoration which included a brand new chassis at this time, the car was completely stripped and rebuilt and an invoice is on file for over £10,000 for the work that was carried out. An unleaded cylinder head was also fitted at this time. Another invoice from R.M Classic Restorations in 2014 also on file for £3405. The car still presents very well today and is still body coloured underneath and the chassis still very solid with no signs of any corrosion. The body paintwork still displays a good shine and the upholstery showing minimal wear. The hood is very good with strong seams and still seals tightly. Although now tax and mot exempt the car has an MOT through to April 2022 with no advisories for your own peace of mind. We have a large folder of bills, invoices and old mot’s detailing all of the restoration work. Starting on the button and performing well the car was a pleasure to take on a test drive and still turned heads and was greeted by many smiling faces. It is very rare to find a 51 year old car that has remained in the same family from new and to have had the amount of work lavished on it as this car has. It is now eager for some new adventures and with no major work required it is ready for some car shows and rallies this year to be enjoyed by its new owner.
