Supplied by Lathams of Leicester in August 1981 and still totally original and just as it left the dealership forty years ago, it even still retains it original Uniroyal tyres. Amazingly this car has never had any paintwork and has never been welded. The car was treated with Tuff Kote Dinol rust proofing from new and it certainly worked preserving the car all these years, the original rustproof guarantee still in the history file. The Spitfire has only been sold due to a house move and downsizing has meant a lack of storage so painstakingly the car had to go. I don’t think we have ever had a car this genuine and original, it comes complete the original dealer order form and the invoice when the car was £3900 brand new. Also the cars sales brochure as well as retail price list from the dealership. The car has spent its entire life in Leicester and has been garaged throughout. All of the old mot certificates are with the car as well as a large collection of service bills and invoices. The book pack, dealer wallet, owners handbook and Passport to Service are also all present as well as all the keys supplied with the car. It still wears its original dealer number plates as well as the Lathams of Leicester tax disc holder. Although the car has had very little use it still starts on the button and drives just as you would expect. The engine is very sweet and smooth and runs just as it was designed to. As the car has not needed and bodywork over the years you can see the shut lines and door gaps are perfect and the bonnet fitting excellent.
