Introduced in 1961, the Series IIIA retained the elegant pillarless coupé styling of the earlier Series III whilst benefiting from a number of important mechanical improvements. Today, early Series Rapiers enjoy an enthusiastic and loyal following supported by dedicated Rootes Group clubs and specialist organisations throughout the UK and Europe. Good examples are becoming increasingly scarce and finding a well-maintained, properly restored Series IIIA is becoming ever more difficult.
