DESCRIPTION

1969 Morgan 4/4 Tourer 1600cc. Burgundy with black leather upholstery, full toneau and black mohair hood. This Morgan has a lovely story attached to it and has had only two owners over the last 50 years. The first owner kept the car for over 40 years, having been a wedding present for his new wife. She was a nurse in the local hospital and having nursed him back to health after a nasty accident at work, they fell in love and married with the Morgan as a present and a reminder for years to come, they kept the car until 2011, over 40 years when it was purchased by the most recent keeper from the lady in 2011, he has cherished the car since. There history folder comes complete with a huge folder of bills, invoices and newspaper and magazine articles all about the car and its life with the first owner. The car was well known in the local car clubs and regularly competed in local hill climbs and other motorsport events, a four branch manifold and twin Weber carburettors were fitted during this time. The car was continually used up until the sudden passing of the husband when the wife vowed never to sell the car, it was de-tuned in the interests of economy and returned to being a daily driver once again although the subtle modifications stayed. The car underwent a restoration in 1996 with all of the invoices on file and a full engine re-build in 2000. Powered by the very versatile Ford 1600 Crossflow the car drives well and puts a smile on your face. Also in the file is the original green log book and copy of the new style log book issued in 1977. This is a great opportunity to get into Morgan ownership and the classic car movement, an iconic british marque that has admiring glances wherever it goes. This car is ready to be enjoyed in new hands, great for weekend fun or shows and rallies. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit cards accepted. Free U.K mainland delivery.
