This Morgan 4/4 Tourer two-seater first rolled out of the factory gates and onto Pickersleigh Road in May 1983 but who – Morgan anoraks apart – would know? This is ‘The Car That Time Forgot’ and that is a large part of its appeal: the 4/4 retains the crown for having the longest continuous production run of any car (1936 to the present day) and only an expert would know if it was one year old or 50.
This car is powered by the rugged 1.6 Ford CVH engine and 5-speed gearbox which replaced the old Kent Crossflow engine and 4-speed ‘box in 1982 – if it was good enough to haul the mighty Ford Sierra up and down the highway, think how much fun it must be flinging the much lighter Morgan along. This Morgan has covered just 15,000 miles from new and is an absolute credit to its former owner. No expense has been spared on the upkeep of this car and the condition speaks for itself. It has been rarely used and stored under a fitted cover in a storage facility for the past 15 years. All aspects of the car are original including paint, wheels, interior trim, hood, tonneau cover and side screens. The vehicle is totally original and as it left the factory in May 1983.
