DESCRIPTION

1970 MGC GT. Snowberry White with black upholstery. Introduced in 1967 and only available for a couple of years, the MGC was a 2912cc, straight-6 version of the MGB. In twin SU carburettor form the engine produced a lusty 145bhp at 5250rpm and when fed through an overdrive gearbox or a three-speed automatic the car was capable of 120mph and 0-60 in just under 10 seconds. The body shell needed considerable revision from its smaller-engined sister, particularly around the engine bay and to the floor pan, but externally the only differences were a distinctive bonnet bulge to accommodate the relocated radiator and a 'teardrop' for carburettor clearance. It had different brakes from the MGB, 15-inch wheels, a lower geared rack and pinion, and special torsion bar suspension with telescopic dampers. This stunning MGC is a real credit to its former keeper, he has owned the car for the last six years and has spared no expense in the upkeep of the car. A huge history file contains photographs of the bare shell restoration that was carried out in 1998 along with a very precise description of all works carried out and is still beautiful today. When the last owner purchased the car he sent the car to Kennington Motors in Oxford who fitted two new Heritage front wings and the invoice is on file, the car also had new seat foams. In the last six years over £5600 has been spent on the car. Also on file is the British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate that confirms the MGC is a U.K right hand drive car dispatched on the 8th October in Snowberry White. The body work is very straight and the paintwork still looks very fresh along with lovely brightwork. The interior is unmarked with no signs of wear and tear. The car has only had 4 previous keepers during its life and its evident that they have all cared for the MG. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit cards accepted.
