DESCRIPTION

1971 MGB GT V8 Sebring Style. Old English White with Mulberry red leather upholstery and matching luggage. This fabulous bespoke built MGB was subject to a complete nut and bolt build by its previous keeper into an absolutely outstanding one off car. He purchased the car in September 2016 and then proceeded to spend the next three years building the MGB into the car you see today. Over £25000 was spent on parts and specialist works, add to that the thousands of hours labour that was poured into the project and the end result is an eye watering spend that would easily exceed £50,000. A huge history folder accompanies the car with invoices detailing the spends. Since its completion in 2019 the MG has covered just 6,000 miles and been mot tested every year passing with no advisories. Details of the work carried out includes the following. The car was totally stripped and the body shell was acid dipped, etch primed and professionally painted to a very high standard. During this process 3” steel wheel arch extensions were fitted to create the Sebring style. An RV8 bonnet power bulge fitted to clear the V8 engine with new front and rear lower spoilers. A new front grille was fabricated that pays homage to the iconic egg box Ken Costello style. The interior has been completely reupholstered with Mulberry red upholstery and carpets with matching Mulberry Red matching luggage all designed to fit in the boot area. The headlining has been replaced and a new Webasto sunroof fitted. Fully refurbished MG RV8 alloy wheels were fitted with matching new tyres. Fitted with a Rover V8 engine, 5 speed gearbox and V8 rear axle which were all professionally rebuilt before the restoration took place, and is already converted to use Unleaded fuel. Other mechanical work and upgrades consisted of RV8 Ceramic coated headers with twin stainless-steel MG SuperSport's exhaust system. Fully poly bushed with Gaz adjustable shock absorbers. Bespoke petrol tank with side filler to allow twin exhaust system. Twin electric fans were mounted behind the radiator for better cooling all with thermostatic control and manual override. New radiator, alternator, starter motor and push button start. Edelbrock 500 carburettor and low profile air filter. New brake servo and all brake components with pipes. Smiths electronic digital speedometer and rev counter. Lumenition ignition system. Scorpion alarm immobiliser and tracker. Rolling road tuned with 170 bhp recorded at Flywheel and the report on file. The history folder as well as a huge portfolio of bills and invoices also contains some V8 manuals. A copy of the MG enthusiasts magazine where the car was featured and showcased and a large amount of photographs showing full details of the restoration. Having said all this the fun really starts when you get into the car to drive, the V8 bursts into life on demand and the exhaust note lets you know you’re in something special. On the open road the MG is an absolute joy, the powerful V8 mated to the 5 speed gearbox means that this is a car easily suited to modern driving and does not fail to turn heads, surely a must for the true MG enthusiast or serious collector. Although now tax and mot exempt a fresh mot will be applied upon sale for your own peace of mind. Absolutely any inspection welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Free U.K mainland delivery. Please contact us for any further information. Lots more pictures and a video on our website and Facebook pages.
