1985 Mercedes Benz 380 SL Automatic. Diamond Blue with navy leather upholstery, navy hood and colour matched factory hard top. During its life this stunning Mercedes was purchased new by a company director as his daily driver. The car was kept by its first owner for nine years, after which it went to a new keeper, at this point the car had covered around 77,500 miles. It was used regularly over the next decade or so, with the mileage reaching 118,589 by 2006, but then, the SL was placed in secure storage until 2016, with only the briefest of spells out for a fresh MOT in 2013. It returned to the roads in 2016 and has been used sparingly since then and the current mileage now is 122,000, still very low for a car that is 38 years old. During the last few years lots of routine maintenance has been carried out and many new parts fitted which include new brake calipers as well as new copper brake lines to the rear and the front, new brake pads, and a washer bottle. An exhaust rear box and centre pipe has been fitted also. Some Connolising was applied to soften the front seats, and the rear parcel shelf has been recovered. One of the biggest jobs has been a brand new hood, which was fitted in December 2020. Accompanying the car is a comprehensive history file containing service stamps, lots of bills and invoices as well as lots of old mot certificates. The SL presents very well and it is obvious that this car has clearly be well cared for with the overall condition very good, the chrome, upholstery and coach work all presenting very well and even retaining its original period chrome wheel trims. Mechanically the car is very strong will excellent oil pressure and starting on the button, running and driving just as you would expect the smooth automatic gearbox and V8 soundtrack make this a very enjoyable drive and ideal summer cruiser. Over the last few years the prices of R107 Mercedes' have rocketed so we believe that these cars are a good investment and properly serviced SL's will run and run.
