DESCRIPTION

1958 Jaguar MK VIII 3 1/2 Litre Manual with Overdrive. British Racing Green with Suede Green leather upholstery. Introduced in 1956, the Mark VIII was the penultimate version of Jaguar's flagship luxury saloon that had debuted as the Mark VII back in 1950. Despatched on 3rd September 1958 and sold through distributor Henley’s of London. This outstanding MK VIII has been part of a private collection for the last 6 years and no expense has been spared in its upkeep. In 2011 the car was entrusted to renowned Jaguar specialist Brian Stevens Classic Cars Ltd who embarked on a restoration to bring the car to a show winning standard that remains to this day. Between August 2011 and September 2012 over £42,000 was spent on works carried out with all of the invoices on file, this included a full engine rebuild. The Jaguar still retains its original registration number VXW 2 from October 1958 with a copy of the original log book on file. The history folder containing lots of bills and invoices as well as old mots and copies of old log books and numerous tax discs. A Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate is also present. This is easily the best MK VIII we have had the pleasure of offering with attention to detail second to none, even the passenger door card pocket fitted with grease gun and tool kit which rare in itself is also complete. The Jaguar drives just as good as it looks, starting on the button with the straight six performing well mated to a smooth manual gearbox with overdrive operating correctly. Believed to be 1 of just 52 registered in the U.K today it is an ideal addition to any collection and would grace any classic car display. Absolutely any inspection welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Finance arranged. Free U.K mainland delivery. Please contact us for any further information. Lots more pictures on our website and Facebook pages.
