DESCRIPTION

1967 Jaguar MK II 3.8 Manual / Overdrive. British Racing Green with Oatmeal Leather upholstery. The MK II Jaguar was a fast and capable saloon in line with Sir William Lyons' 1950s advertising slogan: Grace . . . Space . . . Pace, available with all three versions of the advanced Jaguar XK6 I6 engine, the 2.4, 3.4, and 3.8 litre. This car is rather special in that the last 4 years it has had more than £30,000 spent on an extensive mechanical restoration carried out by M&C Wilkinson Ltd, Jaguar specialists. A full engine rebuild was undertaken in early 2019 by Chris Forbes of Coventry. Other works include a new radiator and cooling system, electronic ignition, fully re-wired, new Hi-Torque starter motor and regulator. New fuel tank, pump and fuel lines and both carburettors refurbished. A whole new brake system comprising of hubs, uprated calipers, discs, servo, brake lines and pads. Every bush, bearing, seal and gasket appears to have been replaced. Five brand new MWS wire wheels and Pirelli Cinturato tyres were fitted as well as new chrome spinners. The suspension has Proflex comfort poly bushes all round and GAZ adjustable shocks up front which really improves the car’s handling. A new carpet set, headlining, sound proofing and door veneer trim were also fitted. Onside the car has been upgraded with the figment of Jaguar S-Type seats with full working electric adjustment. The air filter and plenum have been upgraded although the originals are still with the car. A new clutch master cylinder was fitted and the lights upgraded to modern H7 reflectors and lenses. A secret hidden Bluetooth sound system also discretely placed in the car. A history file accompanies the Jaguar containing bills and invoices of the restoration and and some further paperwork dating back to 1996, when we believe the car was placed into storage for 20 years until changing hands in 2016. On the road the MK II is fantastic to drive as you would expect of a car with such extensive works carried out, the 3.8 manual as everybody knows is the one to have. The previous owner wanted to create a car capable of being used regularly that was not only reliable but comfortable and enjoyable to drive and he has certainly achieved ed this. The paintwork and chrome were left untouched to give the car an original look and a “Patina” finish. The car is very solid without any rust, very good panel fit and super straight although you will find some blemishes in the paint, this does not detract in any way from the car and some will like it exactly this way, the same can be said for the bright work. This Jaguar is very well sorted and ready to be driven just as it was intended over 50 years ago. Although now mot exempt a fresh one will be applied upon sale for your own peace of mind. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Finance arranged. Free U.K mainland delivery.
