DESCRIPTION

1926 Ford Model 'T' 4 Seat Tourer. Factory Black with black upholstery and a black hood. The Ford Model 'T' was introduced by Henry Ford in 1908 as the first ever car affordable to the mass market, following on from the horse and carriage with an amazing 15 million produced until production ended in 1907 Incredibly in excess of 50,000 of these incredible machines still exist, a true legacy to its timeless and important initiation of the motor car we all know today. It must have been amazing, nearly 100 years ago to have a self propelled vehicle instead of relying on four legs with no brakes! The majority were built in 'Detroit' USA however some were shipped to various parts of the world in parts and assembled including Ireland and the Uk where approximately 40,000 were assembled and sold. Contrary to common belief Henry Ford only offered the car in Ford black however during some years of production, Blue, Red, Grey and Blue were available. Fitted with a four cylinder 2890cc four cylinder inline engine and a two-speed and reverse planetary epicyclic transmission, in its day nearlly 100 years ago was actually incredibly advanced! The quality of steel used in the era was of such a gauge, it is actually virtually impossible to find a badly rusted or rotted 'T' even at nearly 100 years old. This charming Model 'T' has survived amazingly well being one of the last produced, with totally solid bodywork and underside. It presents really well with lovely buttoned leather seats and an excellent hood and is only 97 years old, amazing. Driving a Model 'T' is a very different experience, possibly to any other pre war car, however once mastered is a great experience and will happily trundle along all day at easily 35 Mph! Just back from a Model T specialist who carried out various works to ensure the car is running and driving correctly, this includes new front king pins and steering geometry set up. All coil boxes cleaned and reset. The timer/distributor removed and thoroughly cleaned. Under bonnet wiring harness overhauled. A new 6V battery and all rear suspension checked, we can highly recommend them and they will happily offer advice or take on any servicing or repairs needed and supply any parts required. It is just waiting to be enjoyed in new hands. Absolutely any inspection welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Free U.K mainland delivery. Please contact us for any further information. Lots more pictures and a video on our website and Facebook pages.
