DESCRIPTION

1966 Daimler 2.5 V8 Automatic. Opalescent Gunmetal with red leather upholstery. There is an interesting history with this Daimler, first registered in 1966 and in the U.K until 1972 when it was exported to Sunnyvale, California by Miss W Waring. The car remained in the U.S for 20 years before returning to the U.K in 1992, with Manyard Garrison from San Francisco who was a member of The Royal & Ancient Golf Club in Fife, the car always remaining right hand drive. We believe Mr Garrison kept the car until 2009 when car was then sold to Sheriff Principal Graham Cox of Fife. The car was looked after by Historic Car (Daimler & Lanchester Specialist in Clydebank) whilst in Mr Cox's tenure and extensive restoration works were carried out during this time with all invoices on file. The car still presents very well today and is very solid on the body and has a strong chassis with no signs of any rust. The leather upholstery is in very good order and most recently had some restoration work costing over £700. The grey carpets have also been replaced and are in excellent condition. Mechanically the Daimler is very good, it starts on the button, the V8 engine very strong with no smoke and the gearbox engaging correctly. On test drive the car performed well and having power steering made it a pleasure to drive and the Daimler very happy in modern traffic. The large history file contains a large amount of bills and invoices and 23 old MOT's which confirm the mileage of just 97,000, the car having covered just over 2,000 miles since the extensive work. Also in the file is the original Daimler wallet containing handbook and owners manual. A collection of original factory service manuals are also present. Although now MOT exempt a fresh mot will be applied upon sale for your own peace of mind. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange possible. Finance arranged. Free U.K mainland delivery. Storage and shipping facilities. Please contact us for any further information.
