DESCRIPTION

1934 Austin 7 Ulster Replica. Maroon with black guards, black leather upholstery and tonneau cover. This lovely 7 has been with its last owner for 3 years over which time he has improved it significantly to the car we have here today. It has previously been in a private collection and seen little use. It was built in the late nineties by a retired engineer on the Isle of Wight. Using a Rod Yates long cockpit all aluminium body on a late 1935 chassis and period engine. The car was first registered in the U.K in 1952 and is believed to have been imported from South Africa. The car is in beautiful condition throughout and is a real credit to its past custodians. Most recently the 7 has received some improvements which include an original style electronic tachometer, modern fuses, a battery isolator and a rebuilt 1 1/8 SU carburettor. Also with the car is a rare remote Eltos gear change which was used in the Ulster / Specials in period. The attention to detail is shown with a dashboard complimented by period gauges, steering wheel and switches, it also has a custom made two piece tonneau cover. Many Austin 7s were rebuilt as "specials" after the Second World War, including the first race car built by Bruce McLaren, John Cooper and the first Lotus, the Mark I bij Collin Chapman. In “works” form, these pointed tail two-seaters did well in competitions in the years around 1930, both in the Tourist Trophy in Northern Ireland and in events at the Brooklands Track. Austin Seven Sports model gained the name “Ulster” from its success in the Tourist Trophy races on the Ards circuit in Ulster. In supercharged form, it cost £225 and in un-supercharged form £185. A lovely addition to any collection, it would not look out of place no matter what it is stabled with. Absolutely any inspection welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Finance arranged. Free U.K mainland delivery. Please contact us for any further information.
