1992 Daihatsu Fourtrak Pickup 2.8 Diesel. Green with grey cloth and grey mats. This very rare pickup has had only three previous owners and covered just 103,000 miles. It was purchased in 2019 as a project after being stored in a barn for 14 years and rebuilt into the truck you see today with lots of money spent. The work that was undertaken includes stripping back to bare metal by sandblasting with wings removed, body off and all wheels removed. The cab was stripped out and cleaned to find the floor pans were in great order and no sign of rust in the cab, new soundproofing was fitted to the floors. The chassis was treated with 4 coats of oxide primer. The brakes were replaced as were the brake pipes and fuel lines. The fuel tank was removed and flushed then repainted. The engine was removed and a new clutch fitted and the bulkhead was inspected again with no rust. A new intercooler and pipe work and gas filled shock absorbers also installed. The complete cab was painted including doors and bonnet and the chassis was given 6 coats of paint and underbody seal. A new aluminium chequer plate anti slip rear bed was fitted with stainless rivets and the body remounted with stainless bolts. Genuine Daihatsu alloy wheels were sourced and refurbished and then fitted with 5 new Goodyear All Terrain tyres. Finally new decals were fitted and the engine was serviced. The total cost for this work was £7385 which is all itemised and listed in the history file with a lot of the work being carried out by Atkinson Automotive Daihatsu specialists in Staffordshire. The history file also containing bills and invoices for the new parts supplied. The Daihatsu drives very well and a 10 mile test drive confirmed a very strong engine and smooth gearbox with quiet diffs and axles. Once the pickup of choice for many farmers in the U.K and now a very collectable and rare truck. It has an MOT through to December 2021 and is ready to go. The chassis is very solid and the cab in great condition. The rear bed is very strong and the side panels showing only some ripples which is understandable due to this being a working vehicle.
